NCBA has partnered with MoneyGram, a global payments network, to make international money transfers easier for its customers in Kenya. The move enables Kenyans to send money to over 200 countries and territories around the world.

The partnership comes as diaspora remittances continue to grow steadily. According to the Central Bank of Kenya, remittances reached $1.23 billion (Sh159.8 billion) in the first quarter of 2025.

NCBA Acting Director of Retail Banking, Dennis Njau, said the partnership offers a reliable channel for diaspora customers to support their families and invest back home.

He emphasized that the new service reflects NCBA’s commitment to simplifying global transactions for its customers.

A Strategic Move to Support Diaspora Needs

As more Kenyans abroad send money home, the demand for fast, secure, and convenient services continues to rise. NCBA’s integration with MoneyGram responds to this need with a solution that is both accessible and efficient.

Mr. Njau added that MoneyGram’s onboarding is a strong indicator of NCBA’s goal to provide seamless cross-border transfers. Customers can receive money directly into their accounts or pick up cash at any of the bank’s 100 branches across Kenya.

Anas Abouyahya, Regional Lead at MoneyGram, welcomed the partnership. He noted that this collaboration supports MoneyGram’s mission to simplify global money movement while ensuring affordability and security.

According to him, working with NCBA will help more Kenyans send and receive money with ease.

MoneyGram operates in nearly every country and serves over 50 million customers each year. Its vast network includes about 470,000 retail locations and connects over 5 billion digital endpoints.

Through this partnership, NCBA is expanding financial access while offering international-standard remittance solutions.
