KCB and Visa Launch Business Credit Card to Support SMEs
KCB Bank Kenya has partnered with Visa, a global leader in digital payments, to launch a Business Credit Card solution for SMEs. The new product aims to help businesses manage cash flow, control expenses, and pay for daily operational needs with greater ease.
Expanding Access to Working Capital
The card provides access to working capital through a revolving credit line. Notably, it offers up to 45 days of interest-free credit.
In addition, customers can choose between a Kenyan Shilling (KES) card and a US Dollar (USD) card. The solution also includes employee cards and detailed monthly reconciliation statements. As a result, SMEs gain stronger expense tracking and control.
Furthermore, cardholders will access Visa commercial offers. These include discounts that help businesses reduce costs as they accelerate their digital transformation efforts.

Strengthening Digital Payment Solutions
This launch forms part of KCB’s broader digital and innovation strategy. The bank continues to roll out seamless payment solutions that respond to evolving customer needs. Consequently, SMEs can streamline operations and scale more sustainably.
Speaking during the launch, KCB Bank Director of Retail Banking, Jane Isiaho, said SMEs remain the backbone of Kenya’s economy. However, access to finance remains a major barrier to growth.
She noted that many entrepreneurs operate on tight cash flows. They also struggle with limited visibility of business spending. In addition, SMEs often face difficulty separating personal and business expenses. Reconciliation can also be time-consuming.
“Through this solution, we will enable SMEs to secure financing for operational expenses, manage costs effectively, and achieve their business targets,” she said.
Enhanced Controls and Exclusive Benefits
Beyond financing, the card offers seamless business payments and clear separation of personal and business expenses. It also provides customized spending limits for employees.
Moreover, businesses benefit from simplified reconciliation processes and exclusive merchant offers. These include global discounts and business-focused deals.
Visa East Africa Vice-President and General Manager, Chad Pollock, said the solution will enhance efficiency for SMEs.
“By offering a faster and more efficient payment system, we help SMEs address their business needs. Ultimately, this supports enterprise growth and strengthens Kenya’s economy,” he said.
Building on Previous Innovations
Recently, KCB partnered with Visa to launch a Tap to Phone contactless payment solution. This innovation allows merchants to accept payments using NFC-enabled smartphones.
Therefore, the new Business Credit Card builds on KCB’s ongoing investment in digital platforms. It also reinforces the bank’s commitment to supporting customers and merchants with robust payment solutions.
