Galaxy S26 FE: Samsung Brings New AI-Powered Smartphone to Kenya
The new smartphone combines upgraded cameras, AI-powered tools, long-term software support and a 6.7-inch display as Samsung expands its premium device offering in Kenya.
Samsung Electronics East Africa has launched the Galaxy S26 FE in Kenya, expanding its premium smartphone range with new artificial intelligence capabilities and upgraded performance features.
The device introduces One UI 9 within Samsung’s flagship family. It also combines enhanced camera technology with AI-powered features designed to support productivity, photography and everyday tasks.
The launch comes as consumers increasingly seek smartphones that offer high performance, durability and longer software support.
Samsung brings flagship features to a wider market
Executive Vice President and Head of Customer Experience Office at Samsung Electronics, Jay Kim, said the Galaxy S26 FE was designed to bring key strengths of the company’s flagship range to a broader audience.
Manish Jangra, Head of Mobile Experience at Samsung, said Kenya remains an important mobile market where technology supports productivity, entrepreneurship and communication.
“The Kenyan market represents one of the most vibrant mobile ecosystems on the continent, where technology serves as a vital engine for productivity, entrepreneurship, and everyday communication,” said Jangra.
“With the Galaxy S26 FE, our objective is to lower the barrier to premium mobile experiences by providing our Kenyan customers with advanced AI productivity tools, reliable performance, and an exceptional camera.”
The Galaxy S26 FE features a 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with a 120Hz refresh rate. It is also equipped with a 4,900mAh battery, which Samsung says can reach 69% charge in approximately 30 minutes when using a 45W adapter.
For durability, the smartphone has an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance.
Samsung has also committed to providing up to seven generations of operating system upgrades and seven years of security updates. This is aimed at extending the useful life of the device and protecting consumer investment.
Upgraded cameras target creators and everyday users
The Galaxy S26 FE comes with a triple rear camera system. It includes a 50MP main camera, 12MP ultra-wide camera and 8MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom.
The smartphone also introduces tools designed to improve mobile video creation.
My FanCam automatically centres subjects while recording video. Meanwhile, Super Steady with Horizontal Lock is designed to provide more stable footage when recording while moving.
Samsung has also integrated AI-powered editing capabilities into the device.
With Photo Assist, users can edit images using natural-language prompts. Gemini Omni can also help users turn media from their gallery into polished video clips for personal or business use.
These capabilities are designed to make advanced content creation more accessible without requiring specialised editing skills.
Galaxy S26 FE targets long-term value
Beyond its hardware and AI features, Samsung is positioning the Galaxy S26 FE around longer-term usability.
The device comes with an updated Smart Switch tool that enables wireless data transfers from both Android and iOS devices. This allows users to move important content when switching to the new smartphone.
Kenyan buyers will also receive Samsung Care+ protection and a complimentary six-month trial of Google AI Pro. The package includes expanded cloud storage and advanced productivity features.
Price and availability in Kenya
The Galaxy S26 FE will officially go on sale in Kenya from September 4, 2026, through selected retail channels and partner stores.
The 8GB RAM + 256GB storage variant will retail at KES 103,100.
It will be available in Blueberry, Pistachio and Graphite finishes.
With its combination of AI tools, upgraded imaging capabilities, durable design and extended software support, the Galaxy S26 FE gives Samsung another option for Kenyan consumers looking for premium smartphone features at a more accessible point within the flagship range.
