Supporting Businesses Across Western Kenya

NCBA has disbursed KSh4.6 billion in asset finance across Western Kenya in 2026. The funding is helping businesses and individuals acquire vehicles, machinery, equipment and technology.

These assets support expansion and improve productivity. They also serve key sectors such as agriculture, trade, transport, manufacturing, education, healthcare and construction.

NCBA announced the figures in Kisumu during the launch of the 20th edition of the NCBA JOHARI AWARDS. The awards recognise dealers, insurance partners and other industry stakeholders who help customers access assets for business growth.

Asset Finance Supports Productivity

Speaking at the launch, Lennox Mugambi, Group Director, Asset Finance and Business Solutions at NCBA, highlighted the role of asset finance in economic growth.

“Asset financing enables businesses to acquire critical equipment while preserving working capital for day-to-day operations and other areas of growth. As we mark 20 years of the NCBA JOHARI AWARDS, we are celebrating more than business performance. We are celebrating the partnerships that have enabled entrepreneurs, transporters, farmers, contractors, schools, hospitals, manufacturers and countless businesses across Kenya to acquire the assets they need to grow,” said Mugambi.

Meanwhile, NCBA maintained a 30 per cent share of Kenya’s asset finance market in the first half of 2026. The bank also expanded financing options for emerging asset categories.

These include electric vehicles and solar equipment. Such technologies can help customers improve efficiency and manage operating costs.

Partnerships Drive Business Growth

Mugambi said the awards also recognise partners who connect customers with suitable financing solutions.

“The awards is ultimately about recognizing the people behind Kenya’s growth story. Our partners are often the first to understand a customer’s needs and connect them to the right solution. Together, we are helping businesses expand, supporting livelihoods and enabling greater productivity. Our continued position as the Home of Asset Finance is built on these enduring partnerships,” said Mugambi.

To mark the anniversary, NCBA will take the JOHARI AWARDS regional circuit to four regions: Coast, Western, Mt. Kenya and Nairobi.

The awards will recognize dealers, distributors, insurance brokers, agents and other industry partners. Through these partnerships, customers can access assets to grow businesses, expand operations and contribute to Kenya’s economic development.
