Samsung Electronics has launched its latest foldable smartphone lineup in East Africa, introducing the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold8 and Galaxy Z Flip8.
The new Galaxy Z series combines advanced artificial intelligence, improved security features and productivity tools designed for different lifestyles.
Samsung has also opened pre-orders across East Africa, giving customers early access to its newest foldable devices.
The launch introduces One UI 9, Samsung’s latest software experience built around smarter AI features, stronger privacy controls and improved device management.

Samsung says the latest Galaxy Z lineup responds to growing consumer demand for more powerful and personaliszed mobile experiences.
The devices introduce enhanced security through Samsung Knox Enhanced Encrypted Protection and Knox Vault.
These features protect sensitive information by creating secure environments for personal data processing and safeguarding important security keys.
The new AI Assistant Activity Dashboard also gives users greater visibility and control over automated AI actions running on their devices.
Users can review activity, manage permissions and control how AI features access their information.
Samsung has also introduced real-time Privacy Alerts, which notify users when applications attempt to access restricted permissions.

Samsung is improving the transition experience for users moving between smartphone ecosystems.
The upgraded Smart Switch feature now enables wireless migration from iOS devices through a simple QR code scan.
Users can transfer important information, including saved credentials, call histories, accessibility settings and eSIM profiles.
The company has also expanded Quick Share capabilities, allowing smoother file transfers between Galaxy devices and iOS platforms.
This aims to make sharing high-resolution photos, videos and documents easier across different operating systems.
Built for productivity and multitasking
The Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra and Galaxy Z Fold8 are designed for users who need larger screens and stronger multitasking capabilities.
Samsung is offering a six-month complimentary subscription to Google AI Pro, which includes 5TB of cloud storage.
The service supports users who rely on AI tools, cloud storage and multiple applications for work and creativity.
The One UI 9 Warranty and Care Settings Hub also brings device support tools into one location.
Users can access diagnostics, remote support, warranty details and Samsung Care+ information from a single menu.
Customers who purchase through Samsung.com and subscribe to Samsung Care+ will receive the first three months of damage protection at no cost.

Samsung has confirmed pre-orders in Kenya across different storage and memory options.
The Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra starts at KES 271,000 for the 12GB+256GB model. The 12GB+512GB version costs KES 297,100, while the 16GB+1TB variant is priced at KES 349,300.
The Galaxy Z Fold8 starts at KES 243,900 for the 12GB+256GB version. The 12GB+512GB model costs KES 270,000, while the 16GB+1TB option is available at KES 322,200.
For consumers looking for a compact foldable experience, the Galaxy Z Flip8 starts at KES 159,200 for the 12GB+256GB model. The 12GB+512GB version is priced at KES 185,300.
Designed for different lifestyles
The Galaxy Z series comes in several colour options, including Graphite and Cream.
Samsung is also offering exclusive colours such as Violet Shadow, Lavender and Pink, alongside Samsung.com online exclusives including Green Shadow, Pistachio and Mint.
Speaking during the launch, Manish Jangra, Head of Mobile Experience Division at Samsung East Africa, said the company designed One UI 9 to give users more control while delivering powerful AI experiences.
“Whether it is improving productivity, connecting across different ecosystems or strengthening security, we are addressing real technology challenges for users across the region,” he said.
With the latest Galaxy Z lineup, Samsung is positioning foldable smartphones as more than premium devices. The company is presenting them as tools designed for productivity, creativity and everyday digital experiences.
