Prayers work miracle
Ever heard of Dolly Parton’s song –mama say a prayer? Personally, I don’t know where I would be without my mother’s prayers. She taught me how to pray and to be honest if it weren’t for prayers, I would’ve probably lost my mind by now.
I realized the power of prayers when I got sick and admitted to Moi teaching and referral hospital for two weeks. In between my pains, I would hear my mother whispering a prayer. Not once, not twice.
Deep down I knew there was power in a praying woman. As much as I couldn’t hear the words, I believed. Indeed just like Jabez‘s prayers in the bible, my mum’s too were answered, and I became strong again.
We don’t pray because we are religious. We pray because something within
ourselves longs for something Bigger, Nobler, and more Sacred than anything
this world has to offer. We pray to feel happy, to be comforted, and to seek the Truth.
Have you noticed that the world we’re living in is going through so many changes, most of which are infused with fear and darkness?
For some of us who are highly sensitive and empathic beings (I am),
life can get quite hectic at times. That is why prayer is so important. Prayer gives you the necessary strength, courage, faith, and confidence to continue walking in spite of the challenges that keep coming your way.
Just like Rev. Fr Kevin Kongowea puts it, “prayer is an act of surrender to that part of you which is holy, sacred, and divine. The part of you that is unlimited
and free from any limitations, darkness, lies, and illusions”.
According to Fr Kongowea when we take time to pray, we free
ourselves from the chains of fear and darkness.
“Prayer allows the Divine in us to guide us back to truth, light, and to the divine power that lies dormant within us. We pray to be made Whole again,”, says Fr Kongowea.
Personally, I pray because I know that under the illusion of separation, I will continue to
be a slave to fear. But under the protection of our Unlimited and Divine Self, nothing will harm me.
My all-time prayer; Prayer Of Jabez
Oh, that you would bless me indeed, and enlarge my territory, that your hand would be with me and that you would keep me from evil, that I may not cause pain.
How do you pray?
Some pray by closing and others opening their eyes, others by placing your hands in prayer position, or over your heart. Additionally, by taking your awareness from what is out there and placing it within the center of your own heart. Way of prayer depends on an individual, one’s faith, and belief among other things.
You pray by either standing up, sitting down or on your knees. By allowing
yourself to be vulnerable and to be seen not as you think you should be, but as you truly are; that is pure, innocent, and worthy of divine love.
True prayer is practiced with sincerity and an open heart. You let yourself feel in your heart the joy and thankfulness that comes from knowing your prayers
have already been answered. You pray believing not with a doubtful heart, no, believe.
The good thing with prayer is that you can pray anywhere, anyhow. Whether you are kneeling or sitting, walking, or sleeping, it does not matter because God is within you, within your heart and your whole being. He is omnipresent.
