The banner was taken away before The Blues’ 2-0 win against Burnley at north London but it was still there during the 0-0 draw with Wolves in Tuchel’s first game in charge
It is understood that the banner that read “In Frank we trust” cost £1,000.
A fan group called We Are The Shed took credit for the decision on Twitter after the 0-0 draw with Wolves at the Bridge.
They tweeted: “We asked for the banner to stay in place for today’s game in honour of Lampard and what he achieved with us. “We have also asked for it to be removed after tonight out of respect to Tuchel and his team. #ThankYouSuperFrank.”
The Banner was made displayed during Lampards’ last game where Chelsea defeated Luton Town 3-1 in the 4th Round of the FA Cup. Sections of angry Chelsea supporters initially hung a banner outside one of the entrance gates at Stamford Bridge to show their frustrations about Frank Lampard’s sacking. Thomas Tuchel replaced the English boss after 18months in charge of the Blues which did not sit well with fans as the banner reads ‘circus continues’.
The German manager’s first game for the Blues ended in a 0-0 score line against Wolves who defeated the team by 2-1 while Lampard was in charge.
The likes of Antonio Rudiger has started two of Thomas Tuchel’s matches as Chelsea manager and the team have kept two clean sheets so far.
