Uriri Member of Parliament Mark Nyamita has attributed his recognition as Nyanza’s top-performing legislator in the latest Infotrak Leaders Performance Index to consistent service delivery, innovation, and accountability.

Nyamita emerged as the highest-rated MP in the region after attaining a 71 percent approval score in the independent survey, which assessed elected leaders based on service delivery, accessibility, responsiveness, transparency, and fulfilment of campaign promises.

Speaking after the release of the rankings, the legislator said the recognition belongs to the people of Uriri and reflects deliberate efforts to deliver practical solutions that improve livelihoods.

“Our focus has always been on service delivery. We have invested in systems that make government services more accessible, transparent and efficient. This recognition shows that wananchi appreciate leaders who deliver results,” Nyamita said.

The MP noted that his office has prioritised education, infrastructure, youth empowerment, and digital transformation as key pillars of development within the constituency.

Digital Innovation Drives Public Confidence

Among the flagship initiatives highlighted by Nyamita is the digitiszation of bursary applications, making Uriri one of the first constituencies in the region to adopt a fully paperless bursary management system.

The online platform enables students and parents to submit applications electronically, reducing paperwork, increasing transparency, and speeding up the processing of education support.

According to Nyamita, the initiative has significantly improved efficiency while ensuring deserving students receive financial assistance without unnecessary delays.

He said technology has become an important tool in improving public service delivery by eliminating bottlenecks and promoting accountability in the management of public resources.

Beyond education, the MP cited ongoing investments in roads, healthcare, water projects, and youth empowerment programmes as part of his broader development agenda.

He maintained that development should be measured by the impact it has on people’s daily lives rather than political rhetoric.

Survey Highlights Growing Focus on Performance

The Infotrak survey covered all 290 constituencies and assessed Members of Parliament using indicators including accessibility, prudent use of public resources, implementation of development projects, accountability, and responsiveness to constituents.

Nyamita’s performance placed him ahead of several lawmakers from the Nyanza region, reinforcing growing public expectations for leaders to demonstrate measurable results during their terms in office.

Political analysts say the latest rankings indicate that voters are increasingly rewarding leaders who remain visible within their constituencies and consistently deliver development projects.

For Nyamita, the recognition serves as motivation to continue implementing programmes that improve the lives of residents while strengthening transparency and accountability in constituency management.

He reaffirmed his commitment to sustaining the momentum through continued investment in education, digital innovation, infrastructure development, and economic empowerment initiatives.

“As leaders, our responsibility is to solve problems and improve people’s lives. That is the standard we have set in Uriri, and we remain committed to delivering even more for our constituents,” he said.

The latest Infotrak ranking adds to the growing emphasis on performance-based leadership in Kenya, where service delivery is increasingly becoming the benchmark by which elected leaders are judged.
