By Mother Kills Child Over Differences With Husband In Plot To Flee With New Lover
A woman has been arrested after killing one of her two children at Kaplamai Village in Kuresoi South, Nakuru County in an attempt to flee with a new lover following long-standing differences with her husband.
Faith Chepkemoi Maritim aged 34, has told the authorities that she and her husband Bernand Maritim had for a long time been fighting and has decided to get married to another man.
In an attempt to cut all ties with Bernad and elope with her new lover, she said she decided to kill the three-year-old child that they had sired together with her husband Bernad.
Area assistance chief said preliminary investigations revealed that the woman had been in communication with the new lover through SMS and they were preparing to flee on Monday morning.
According to the administrator, Mrs. Maritim hit the boy using firewood on the neck and killed him instantly on Sunday at around 10 pm and then covered him with a blanket before raising alarm.
The woman has since been taken to the Olenguruone Police Station whereas the body of the deceased boy was taken to Olenguruone hospital morgue.
