NCBA Powers Growth of Transport Enterprises Through Integrated Financial Solutions
Transport entrepreneurs in Embu explore financing, insurance, payments and other solutions to grow their businesses.
NCBA has reaffirmed its commitment to Kenya’s transport sector by bringing together transport entrepreneurs, PSV operators, SACCO leaders, fleet owners, motor vehicle dealers and other industry stakeholders.
The stakeholders met at the Embu Transporters Forum to discuss opportunities for business growth, innovation and sustainable enterprise development.
The forum was held under the theme, “Powering Transport Enterprise Through Partnerships and Innovation.”
It attracted about 180 participants from Embu and surrounding transport corridors. These included Embu Town, Mwea, Runyenjes, Kiritiri, Siakago, Ishiara and Kutus.
Key transport groups at the forum included Neno, KETTNO and EEMO Saccos, alongside other regional transport associations.
Transport sector remains key to the economy
The engagement comes as Kenya’s transport sector continues to support economic activity.
According to the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics (KNBS), the Transportation and Storage sector grew by 3.7 per cent in 2025.
NCBA said this growth highlights the importance of supporting transport businesses with solutions that match their evolving needs.
The Embu forum builds on the bank’s 2025 Transporters Forum in the region. This year’s engagement takes a broader approach by bringing together different players across the transport value chain.
The discussions focused on collaboration, business growth and sustainable enterprise development.

More than vehicle financing
Dennis Njau, NCBA Group Director, Retail Banking, said transport businesses need more than vehicle financing to succeed.
“Transport businesses require more than vehicle financing. They need the right financial, insurance and transactional solutions to manage their operations, expand their fleets and build sustainable businesses,” he said.
Njau added that NCBA aims to provide solutions that respond to the changing needs of transport entrepreneurs.
The bank showcased a range of solutions during the forum. These included Asset Finance, Bancassurance, SME solutions and working capital facilities.
The offering also includes Insurance Premium Financing, Vehicle Tracking Solutions and Everyday Banking Services.
Digital payments for transport businesses
The forum also highlighted Transaction Banking through NCBA’s Komiut payment solution.
The platform forms part of the bank’s broader efforts to support transport businesses with digital payment solutions.
Participants also engaged NCBA experts and strategic partners through panel discussions, customer experiences and product exhibitions.
Motor dealers also showcased their offerings during the event.
Building stronger partnerships
The discussions explored how collaboration can help transport businesses improve efficiency and modernize their fleets.
Participants also looked at how SACCOs, financial institutions, dealers, insurers and operators can work together as Kenya’s mobility landscape evolves.
NCBA said this approach reflects its Ubuntu philosophy, “I am because we are.”
The bank believes sustainable growth in the transport sector depends on strong partnerships across the value chain.
Through these partnerships, stakeholders can unlock new opportunities, strengthen transport enterprises and contribute to wider economic growth.
Revamped PSV financing for transport entrepreneurs
The forum also provided an opportunity for NCBA to highlight its revamped PSV financing proposition.
The solution is designed to support SACCOs, fleet owners and individual operators looking to expand their businesses.
Beyond financing, NCBA continues to provide sector-focused banking solutions for transport entrepreneurs.
The bank said its approach forms part of its wider commitment to supporting SMEs through practical and customer-focused solutions.
For transport businesses, access to the right combination of financing, insurance, payments and operational solutions can provide a stronger foundation for growth as the sector continues to evolve.
