Huawei https://www.huawei.com/ke Cloud has reaffirmed its commitment to accelerating Kenya’s digital transformation with the hosting of Huawei Cloud TechWave Kenya Day in Nairobi.

Held under the theme “Innovate Now, Ignite the Future”, the event brought together more than 120 senior leaders from government, finance, media, e-commerce, and the ICT sector.

Accelerating Kenya’s Digital Shift

As more than 170 countries adopt digital strategies and over 60 roll out AI policies, Huawei Cloud is positioning itself as a central player in Africa’s transformation. The company is using its global expertise to deliver practical solutions for Kenyan enterprises.

Frank Shi, Managing Director of Huawei Cloud Kenya, emphasized urgency.

“The best time to develop Cloud and AI is now. Huawei Cloud is proud to have been in Kenya for 27 years. We are here to build a better Kenya and a smarter, more connected future together,” he said.

Shi outlined Huawei Cloud’s transition from cloud-native to AI-native architecture, embedding artificial intelligence into every layer of the cloud.

Innovation Through Big Data and DevOps

Speakers showcased how AI, Big Data, and DevOps are driving change. Timothy Oriedo, CEO of Predictive Analytics Lab, shared Kenyan examples in fintech, agriculture, and logistics, showing how enterprises can turn data into measurable results.

Huawei Cloud also introduced CodeArts, an all-in-one DevOps platform that combines 28 tools. Rex Xiao, Vice President of PaaS Product, highlighted three main benefits: faster development, stronger built-in security, and automation for higher productivity.

Adding to this, Ishaq Kassam, CCO of FinSense Africa, underscored the role of DevSecOps in boosting agility and resilience. He stressed practices such as one-click deployment, security by design, and faster turnaround times as vital for competitiveness.

Building the Future Together

Case studies reinforced Huawei Cloud’s global reach. In the Philippines, a leading internet firm boosted R&D efficiency tenfold after adopting CodeArts.

Data analytics expert David Sanchez Plaza also introduced Lakehouse architecture, which combines data lakes and warehouses to enable real-time analytics and trustworthy AI models.

The event closed with a live demo from Kevin Kipruto, Senior Solution Architect at Huawei Cloud. He built an e-commerce app using Huawei Cloud’s PaaS and DevSecOps tools, showing how businesses can deliver software faster without sacrificing performance or security.

Looking ahead, Huawei Cloud pledged long-term support for Kenya’s digital economy.

“We are not just providing technology. We are building ecosystems, nurturing talent, and co-creating solutions. Together with our partners, we will build a smarter, more inclusive, and intelligent future for Kenya and Africa,” Shi concluded.
