NBK Donates Kes. 1.5 million to Police FC for Sports Development

Football Kenya Premier League side Police FC has received a massive shot in the arm after landing Kes. 1.5 million sponsorship from National Bank of Kenya which will go towards enhancement of sporting activities within the club.

The sponsorship monies will be used to enable team travel logistics, and accommodation for away matches, acquiring new jerseys, training equipment – Bips, cones, training kits and other team’s requirements ahead of the 2024/2025 season.

Speaking during the check handover ceremony at the Police Sacco Stadium Friday morning, NBK Managing Director George Odhiambo said: “Our partnership with Police FC is aimed at nurturing talent and enabling the team’s seamless participation in the local topflight league in line with our sports agenda, riding on the conviction that we have a role to support the communities where we operate from to achieve their dreams. This sponsorship will support the club’s current annual budget.”

The team, under the tutelage of Salim Babu,  is currently sitting second in the log standings with 54 points after 30 matches played so far. They have also qualified for the FKF Cup competition semifinals and are expected to face AFC Leopards on May 26 at the Dandora Stadium.

“We are excited to partner with NBK in this noble course that will be crucial in facilitating our team. This sponsorship is a massive boost to the club, and it is my hope that we will fight for the Premier League and the FKF Cup titles. We have full confidence with our coach Salim Babu and his team for the consistency they have shown. We are also grateful to NBK for this support,” noted Police FC Chairman Bishop Fred Akama.
