Meru Governor Hon. Kiraitu Murungi yesterday was joined by other Meru leaders as he launched the Meru Vision 2040 Delivery Board, the Secretariat, and Resource Mobilization Committee that will help us spearhead the vision of a Prosperous, United and Happy Society.
He hailed the chief guest who graced the occasion saying, “I wish to thank the Cabinet Secretary Public Service and Gender Prof Margaret Kobia for finding time to be the Chief Guest in this unique event that will see our “Making Meru Great” working phrase come to fruition”.
The colorful ceremony was also attended by Kenya Vision 2030 Delivery Secretariat Director General Mr. Kenneth Mwige, political leaders, National and County Government officials, Njuri Ncheke elders, religious leaders, opinion leaders, and other eminent persons from across the county where the governor also officially opened the Kaguru Leadership and Training Centre.
Later in the afternoon the governor and the other legislators held a presentation on the proposed Constitution Amendment Bill 2020-BBI led by BBI Secretariat Member Dr. Sarah Kilemi.
Kiraitu assured his people that the discussions will be held at various groups level so that when the time for the referendum comes, our people will vote from an informed point of view. With BBI, devolved units are going to get a 35% increase of sharable revenue up from the current 15%.
