Five men have narrowly escaped the wrath of an angry mob in Kitengela after they were accused of attempted kidnapping.
The men were waylaid by boda boda operators after screams of help were heard emanating from the vehicle they were traveling in. Police arrived just in the nick of time to save them from lynching.
Drama unfolded when the victim lowered a window of the vehicle and raised an alarm calling for help from other motorists and motorcycle riders.
Boda Boda riders responded promptly and managed to block the vehicle which was heading towards Isinya along the Namanga road.
The victim had been sandwiched between three men seated in the back. According to the victim identified as Charles Semo, the suspects had picked him up in Mlolongo posing as police officers.
He claimed to have been hoodwinked from a club only to be forced into the car before the driver sped off to Mombasa road.
In their defense, however, the men claimed to be health workers and were taking the victim to a rehabilitation center.
The area has been in the spotlight over a spate of kidnappings.
