Narcissists are consumed with maintaining a shallow false self to others. They are emotionally crippled souls that are addicted to attention. Because of this, they use a multitude of games, in order to receive adoration. Sadly, they are the most ungodly of God’s creations because they do not show remorse for their actions, take steps to make amends, or have empathy for others. They are morally bankrupt. ~ Shannon L. The Definition of a Narcissist
Narcissistic personality disorder involves a pattern of self-centered, arrogant thinking and behavior, a lack of empathy and consideration for other people, and an excessive need for admiration. Others often describe people with NPD as manipulative, selfish, patronizing, and demanding.
A narcissist is ‘a person who is overly self-involved, and often vain and selfish’.
It can also be termed as a disorder in which a person has an inflated sense of self-importance.
Some of the traits are:
- They know everything and it is their way or the highway (they will never admit when they are wrong)
- They need to control everything and will manipulate and lie to get it e.g. to be liked, money, and power. They are so tightly knotted needing to control they are like a weed suffocating a flower to steal their beauty and sunlight.
- They are very highly strung and can be set off anytime.
- Some get rid of people who do not agree with them.
- They lack empathy
Considering the times, we live in, a lockdown, it is impossible to just get up and walk away. However, there are other better ways of dealing with the situation.
It is not You, It is Them
It is a mental illness and it is not personal to you. Keep your value – do not believe what they tell you.
Get as much support as you need
Do not be afraid to ask for help or reach out to anyone. They will try to isolate you so they can control you as much as possible
Don’t Argue with them and if need be, try to avoid them.
Do not argue with them but if they ask your opinion reflect it back to them. Develop survival tactics, you can look like you are agreeing with them but try not to feed their ego.
Set strong boundaries
Set strong boundaries and do not be afraid to implement them. You will get push-back but they will empower you.
Be creative
If you can – support yourself by journaling, being creative, going for your daily exercise alone, reading, having time alone. Please do not go into blaming yourself – self-care is imperative.
If you are reading this and agreeing to any of it – I am sorry you are going through it. You are a beautiful soul and please do not blame yourself for ending up in a narcissistic relationship or situation. I deserve better and so do you.
You are enough.
You are brave.
You are worth the best that can ever be provided under the sky!
Cut them out of your life. They make life difficult for us.
Ahaha you never disappoint 😄
