Couple Arrested For Killing Man, Dumping Body In Maize Plantation
Police in Kirinyaga County are holding a couple for allegedly killing a 34-year-old man and dumping his body in a maize plantation at Kamutithi village in Gichugu constituency.
Gichugu sub-county Police Commander Anthony Mbogo said the suspects; Daniel Muchira (53) and his wife Joyce Muthoni (39), were arrested on Saturday morning at 2am in their homestead.
Mbogo said the body of 34-year-old Bidan Bundi was discovered by casual workers who were on a construction site, and who then informed the area chief.

The administator in turn then alerted officers at the Kianyaga Police Station who retrieved the body.
The body of the deceased was identified by his brother Jamleck Kariuki at Kerugoya hospital mortuary.
Police said preliminary investigations established that the couple killed the deceased on January 1, 2022 after a fight broke out when the man visited their homestead over unknown reasons.
According to the police boss, the deceased had serious injuries on his body and his left hand was cut off while his head was crushed.
“We want them to tell us where they have been keeping the body since New Year, only for us to discover the body dumped in a maize plantation on Wednesday, January 6. We’re waiting for post-mortem,” Mbogo said.
The two are currently being held at Kianyaga Police Station awaiting arraignment at Gichugu courts on Monday.
