By More measures to help stop the spread of coronavirus
The ministry of health led by the health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe has put more stringent measures to help combat coronavirus in the most affected areas in the country.
The ministry of health in collaboration with that of the Interior and Coordination of the National Government has directed a cessation of movement in and out of Eastleigh in Nairobi and Old Town area in Mombasa with effect from today 6th May 2020 at 7 PM for the next 15 days.
This means that one cannot leave Eastleigh and Old Town areas but can move within.

Eateries, markets, and restaurants in the two areas have been ordered to close with effect from today 6th May 2020 at 7 PM for the next 15 minutes.
Kagwe has said that the measures are not intended to punish the affected residents but are aimed at ensuring that the disease is identified, isolated, and contained.
47 people have tested positive bringing the total number of the confirmed positive cases to 582 in the country.
Thirty-two (32) are from Mombasa, eleven (110 from Nairobi, two (20 from Busia, one (1) from Kiambu, and one (1) from Kwale. However, eight people have been discharged recording a total number of 190 recoveries. Two people have passed on bringing the number of deaths to twenty-six.
