NCBA recently wrapped up a week-long regional engagement in Eldoret, reinforcing its commitment to support commercial and SME customers in the North Rift region.

The tour included direct customer visits, market activations, and a high-level customer forum that brought together over 150 entrepreneurs, NCBA leaders, and Uasin Gishu County stakeholders.

The initiative is part of NCBA’s wider strategy to become the go-to financial partner for businesses in regional economic hubs.

During the engagements, NCBA showcased tailored business solutions, including working capital, asset finance, insurance, bancassurance, investment advisory, and trade finance services.

NCBA Kenya Managing Director, Mr. James Gachora, emphasized the value of these engagements. “Our goal is to understand what matters most to our customers and tailor our offerings to their evolving needs. Feedback from the ground is central to our customer obsession strategy.”

Tailored Solutions for Local Growth

Uasin Gishu County remains a key contributor to Kenya’s GDP, especially through maize, dairy, and poultry production. In response, NCBA is providing targeted financial tools to help businesses in the region scale.

Since the NCBA merger five years ago, the Eldoret branch has served over 8,200 customers. It maintains a 5% annual customer growth rate and disburses an average of KES 300 million in loans each year.

The bank has also partnered with the Africa Guarantee Fund to release over KES 17 billion to support business expansion.

In construction, NCBA offers property finance to contractors, developers, and building material suppliers ensuring timely delivery of projects with scalable financial backing.

Additionally, the bank has introduced several digital cash management solutions for SMEs. These include:

  • Connect Plus: A digital banking platform for SMEs and corporates

  • Nyumba Zetu: A rent collection platform for landlords

  • Soma Plus: A school payments solution supporting fee collection, salaries, and supplier payments

  • NCBA Till: A simplified payment collection tool for SMEs

Dennis Njau, NCBA AG Group Director of Retail Banking, noted, “We are committed to going where our customers are. By listening, understanding, and co-creating solutions, we walk alongside them as they grow the businesses powering our economy.”

The Eldoret activation follows similar forums across Kenya, forming part of NCBA’s nationwide strategy to strengthen its commercial and SME banking proposition through personalized engagement, convenience, and industry-aligned solutions.
