KCB Group Named Among World’s Top Performing Banks by Forbes
The recognition places KCB among 500 leading banks evaluated across 89 countries using key measures of financial performance and resilience.
KCB Group has earned a place among the world’s top-performing banks in the inaugural Forbes World’s Top Performing Banks 2026 ranking.
The recognition puts the Kenyan banking group on a global platform alongside leading financial institutions from across the world. Forbes produced the ranking in partnership with market research firm Statista.
A Global Measure of Bank Performance
The 2026 ranking features 500 banks from 89 countries. Unlike customer-focused banking rankings, Forbes assessed the institutions using objective financial data.
The evaluation covered four key areas: profitability, growth and earnings quality, capital and funding resilience, as well as asset quality and efficiency.
Forbes also grouped banks into six asset-based tiers. This approach allowed institutions to compete against banks of similar scale.
KCB Earns Global Recognition
For KCB Group, the recognition highlights its performance within a competitive global banking sector.
The group has built a strong presence across East Africa while expanding its financial solutions for retail customers, businesses and corporate clients.
KCB’s recognition also comes as banks continue to balance growth with resilience, digital transformation and changing customer needs.
The Forbes ranking provides another measure of how financial institutions are performing beyond their home markets.
A Milestone for Kenya’s Banking Sector
The recognition adds to Kenya’s growing visibility in global financial services.
For KCB, it offers an opportunity to showcase the strength of its business and its role in supporting customers across the region.
As global banking continues to evolve, the ranking also underscores the importance of sustainable growth, strong balance sheets and efficient operations.
KCB Group is headquartered in Nairobi and traces its history back to 1896.
