Uncustomed Ethanol Worth Ksh 15M Intercepted By KRA

Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) intercepts trucks ferrying uncustomed ethanol worth Ksh 15M with a tax implication of Ksh 35M.

In a statement, KRA said the consignment was intercepted at Kimana area in Loitoktok and has been detained at the Customs Border Office.

“The trucks were ferrying 132 and 156 drums of uncustomed ethanol respectively.” Stated the statement.

Adding that: “The drums were each 250 litres.”

The registration numbers of the two trucks were concealed with those of foreign number plates.

While encouraging the public to undertake legitimate businesses, the authority reiterated its commitment to ensuring every Kenyan pays its fair share of taxes.
