Presidential Ballot Papers Arrive At JKIA, First Consignment

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has Wednesday received the first batch of presidential ballot papers.

The consignment was received by Vice Chairperson Juliana Cherera alongside other officials from the commission.

The printing of the ballot papers took place in Athens, Greece by a firm identified as Inform P Lykos.

Speaking shortly after receiving the ballot papers, Cherera revealed that the poll body has put into consideration the use of a manual voter register.

“The commission has printed a manual voter register together with the ballot papers. We have put protocols on how the manual voter register is going to be used.”

The last batch of ballot papers will arrive in the country on 3rd July 2022 as IEBC awaits a ruling on some of the pending court cases.

Last week, a team of presidential candidates’ representatives, religious leaders, Office of the Registrar of Political parties, Media Council of Kenya and Political Parties Liaison Committee traveled to Greece to witness the printing of the ballot papers.
