In a tweet, Passaris said “I am deeply appalled and would like to condemn in the strongest terms possible the manner in which Nominated Senator Millicent Omanga was manhandled yesterday in Kisii. No matter which side of the political divide we’ are on, women’s bodies must be respected at all times” She tweeted on Tuesday
However, Omanga seemed unfazed by the incident as she took to social media praising herself for showing resilience saying “At least they know I am not a pushover. Or are they saying something different out there?” She said via Twitter
Omanga was forcefully removed from the podium during the burial of the father of Kisii Deputy Governor Joash Maagi.
Drama ensued after Kisii Governor James Ongwae denied Omanga a chance to address the mourners but she grabbed him off the microphone.
The security officers intervened and they threw her out in a dramatic scene where one police officer was captured on camera touching her butt.
The burial also experienced another drama after Dagorreti MPSimba Arati exchanged blows with his Mugirango South counterpart Silvanus Osoro bringing the ceremony to a temporary halt.
