Claude Academy In Baringo Equipped With KES 10 million Worth Of School Infrastructure

The project is part of the Foundation’s efforts to support schools across the country with infrastructure, focusing on the neediest cases.

Over 300 learners at Claude Academy in Baringo County are set to benefit from new learning infrastructure by M-Pesa Foundation in efforts to improve education outcomes at the school.

The Foundation invested KES 10 million in the equipping of an integrated resource centre with computers, laptops and projectors to enhance digital learning at the school. In addition, M-Pesa Foundation constructed a boys’ dormitory to ease congestion and provided solar equipment and CCTV cameras to enhance security in the school.

“Through our Foundations, we aim to transform lives by addressing the most pressing needs in society. Our intervention today underscores our commitment to uplifting this community through education and most importantly the skills that they will gain can be used to transform their communities,” said Joseph Ogutu, Chairman, Safaricom Foundation.
Safaricom has invested in education projects in Baringo through its Foundations by supporting Marigat Integrated Primary School, Chepkewel Primary School, Loiwat High School, Maron Primary School among many others to boost learning outcomes in the county.

M-Pesa Foundation has also invested heavily in healthcare in the county through its Daktari Smart initiative as well as supporting infrastructure and equipment upgrades at Kabarnet Referral Hospital, Chemolingot Sub-County Hospital, Barwessa Health Centre, Mugurin Dispensary and Marigat Catholic Mission Health Centre.
