Partnership Delivers Fuel Discounts, Cashbacks, and Productivity Tools

Vivo Energy Kenya, the distributor of Shell products, has partnered with Safaricom PLC to enhance Bundle Ya Dere, Safaricom’s new proposition for cab drivers.

Through this collaboration, drivers will now enjoy exclusive fuel discounts every Saturday at all Shell service stations countrywide. The offer adds more value to the connectivity and work tools already available on Bundle Ya Dere.

More Savings and Convenience for Drivers

The Shell offer gives taxi drivers access to premium fuel, convenience, and cashback rewards. Drivers already enjoy free access to essential apps such as Uber, Bolt, Little, Faras, Yego, Google Maps, and insurance services. Now, with the fuel discount, they can further reduce their daily operating costs.

The combined package of connectivity, insurance, discounts, and productivity tools creates a complete solution designed to boost drivers’ earnings and efficiency.

Safaricom’s Commitment to Drivers

Safaricom’s Chief Consumer Business Officer, Fawzia Ali Kimathi, said the partnership reflects Safaricom’s focus on innovation and customer value.

“As Safaricom, we listen, innovate, and enhance our customers’ experiences. This deal with Vivo Energy Kenya lowers operational costs and increases savings. In an on-demand world, connectivity, convenience, and savings help drivers focus on what they do best,” she said. She encouraged drivers to fuel at Shell every Saturday to maximise the offer.

Beyond savings, the proposal also improves safety. Drivers and riders can access subsidised insurance to cover accidents, illness, or loss of income.

Safaricom has also introduced Safire Connect empowerment forums that train drivers on entrepreneurship, financial wellness, and digital skills.

“Every day we serve millions of Kenyans across our retail network. We are excited to join an initiative that brings real value to taxi drivers. This collaboration makes every stop at Shell more rewarding,” he said.

Part of Safaricom’s 25-Year Celebrations

As Safaricom marks 25 years, drivers will benefit from additional forums focusing on financial health, safety, and digital tools to grow their income.

Vivo Energy Kenya remains the leading oil marketer in the country, with over 340 Shell service stations nationwide. Shell was recently recognised as Kenya’s most accessible and preferred fuel brand.
