Safaricom has announced the largest upgrade to the M-PESA platform since 2015.

Scaling Capacity and Resilience
The new M-PESA Core expands processing capacity from 4,500 to 6,000 transactions per second.
It also has the ability to scale up to 12,000 transactions as demand grows.
With its active-active architecture across multiple hosting sites, customers will enjoy higher resilience and minimal service interruption.
