It was pomp and color at KCA University’s 17th graduation ceremony as more than 2,800 students received the power to read and do all that appertains.

The event, which took place at the Main Campus- Ruaraka was the second graduation ceremony this year after the institution introduced a bi-annual graduation mode to enhance completion time and fast-track the student’s transition to the world of work.
The 17th graduation ceremony was historic for KCA University as this is the first cohort to be conferred with degrees and awarded diplomas and certificates by the newly appointed Chancellor; FCPA Dr. Martin Oduor Otieno, CBS.
FCPA Dr. Oduor takes the mantle from Prof. Olive Mugenda PhD, EBS, CBS, MGH. who retired as the Chancellor after five years of dedicated service.

The event also involved the recognition of 30 staff members and 10 students who had taken part in grant writing and notable innovation initiatives that are providing solutions to the world’s pressing challenges.
Speaking at the ceremony, FCPA Dr. Martin Otieno, the University Chancellor urged the students to embrace agility and adaptability as they transitioned into the world of work to stay ahead, continually learn and master new tools and methodologies that keep them relevant in their career paths.
“My message to this graduating class is to be flexible and adaptable. Traditional, linear career paths are becoming increasingly rare and they need the agility to pivot, explore unconventional roles, and embrace opportunities that align with their evolving passions and goals. Adaptability will empower them to face challenges, recover from setbacks, and thrive in environments of change”
On his part, Prof. Isaiah Wakindiki, the noted that institutions of higher learning need to lay leadership and governance structures to ensure more prudent management of resources and cultivate sustainability in the wake of the reforms in the higher education sector.
