The Tangatanga Briefing: “Will Ruto Be Impeached?”

Monday afternoon, Members of Parliament allied to the Deputy President William Ruto made a press briefing on matters that have come to their attention including the escalating political tension.

The tangatanga team has said it is and has always been ready to engage an ideology of principled engagements, peaceful coexistence, brotherhood, solidarity and compassion.

They say a malicious discrimination and a reckless act of duty by the national police service is a grave threat to the national security.

The evil scheme which begun with targeted withdrawal of security of Members of Parliament, has now been extended to total official withdrawal of official security coverage by police officers at meetings attended by the Deputy President.

“We are aware that an illegal sanctioned hit squad dubbed “Commander” has been formed to perpetrate political violence as witnessed in Kenol, Murang’a County and Msambweni, Kwale County and that it has been tasked to cause violence at the DP’s functions that were held at the coast this last weekend.” The statement read

The team says “Once again we are witnessing the detention without trial in the country, through the misuse of the police and criminal justice system where individuals are held without the benefit of a judicial hearing”

They are condemning the act that brings back the era of political assassinations.

“At your age you don’t lie” Duale tells Raila

Speaking during the briefing, Garissa MP Adan Duale accused former Prime Minister Raila Odinga who is one of the proponent of the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) of lying to the people of Kenya.

“Raila told the people of Turkana that if BBI is passed, they will receive KSH20 Billion. This is a big lie as Mandera, Turkana, Wajir, Lamu, Isiolo, Marsabit and Garissa people will have little benefits or none”

He added “If BBI is for the benefit of Kenyans, why do you want to intimidate, blackmail people and use force; why do you want to bribe the MCA’s? Why do you want to use state organs”?

This comes even as, the ruling party Jubilee might be in a move to impeach the embattled deputy president who according to them has gone against the party rules besides disrespecting and going against the party leader Uhuru Kenyatta.

The DP’s brigade has asked for peace and urged the courts to avoid being politically manipulated in their line of duty.
