Pupils Protest At Police Station, Accuse Teacher Of Sexual Misconduct

Dozens of pupils from Kagio Primary School staged a protest at a police station in Kirinyaga County to demand the arrest of their teacher whom they accused of sexual misconduct.

The Standard Eight pupils forced their way into the station on Friday evening where they accused the teacher of indecently touching their private parts.

The pupils also demanded the transfer of the accused teacher from the school.

Mwea West police boss Aden Alio said the teacher was arrested shortly after the protests for interrogation.

Mr. Alio said detectives have opened an investigation into the allegations. He said police are seeking to record statements from the victims.

Some parents claimed they have received complaints from their children about the teacher.
