NCBA Celebrates Older Persons with Acts of Care and Sustainability
On 1st October 2025, NCBA Bank https://ke.ncbagroup.com/ joined Kenyans and the world in commemorating the International Day of Older Persons.
Partnering with Ahadi Kenya Trust, Ushiriki Wema, Vinearc Village, and the Nairobi County Government, the Bank brought together more than 300 senior citizens in Dagoretti South to honor their invaluable role in shaping families, communities, and the nation.
The event was guided by this year’s global theme: “Older persons driving local and global action; our aspirations, our well-being and our rights.” It served as both a celebration and a call to recognize the rights, dignity, and contributions of older generations.

NCBA Celebrates Older Persons with Acts of Care and Sustainability
Caring for Those Who Once Cared for Us
NCBA staff and volunteers joined hands with other stakeholders to provide food, blankets, mattresses, diapers, and other essentials. These acts of care highlighted the Bank’s commitment to its #NCBAChangeTheStory pledge of building sustainable and inclusive communities.
For NCBA, caring for those who once cared for them is one of the highest honors. This day reminds NCBA that empowerment should reach every generation if we are to create resilient and equitable societies.
Planting Seeds for Generations to Come
Beyond the immediate support, NCBA also used the occasion to plant trees alongside the older persons, a gesture that symbolized continuity, legacy, and hope. The initiative is part of the Bank’s ambitious commitment to grow 10 million trees by 2030.
“It’s never too late to make a difference,” the Bank emphasized. “Every step we take leaves a greener mark. Together, we’re planting for people, for planet, and for generations to come.”
A Lasting Commitment
This celebration was not just a one-day event but a reflection of NCBA’s broader promise to invest KES 100 million in sustainable community projects.
The Bank reaffirmed that empowering older persons is as important as nurturing the youth, as both are central to creating stronger, more balanced societies.
As the sun set on the Dagoretti South celebration, it was clear that NCBA’s actions went beyond corporate social responsibility.
They stood as a reminder that honoring older generations, our parents, grandparents, and community elders, is an investment in values that will carry forward into the future.
