Introduction Of Electronic Filing Of Cases In Nairobi Courts
The public has been notified that filing of cases in all the courts in Nairobi will be done exclusively through the electronic filing system herein referred to as “e-filing” with effect from 1ST July 2020.
The Law Society of Kenya Members, the Office of the Director of Public Prosecution, the Police as well as the members of the public will be required to register themselves with through the portal https://efiling.court.go.ke in order to log into the Judiciary system, upload documents, assess court fees and then submit the files to the registry, online.

The Chief Justice will officially launch the e-filing initiative at the beginning of July.
Any computer or device that allows attachment of files will be sufficient to assess the system and carry out the e-filling.
The system is already open for use and the public is encouraged to familiarize themselves with it prior to the official launch.
This is a key part of the Judiciary’s efforts to increase the use of technology in all its functions and achieve higher levels of efficiency and convenience to its stakeholders. The courts are already increasingly using ICT platforms to conduct hearings and deliver judgements and rulings.
Other forthcoming initiatives include the launch of a court Recording and Transcription Systems, initially in 32 courtrooms around the country.
