I just woke up this morning feeling myself after I perfectly made some sweet Chapatis. Anyway, I need to address the nation, not for making these tasty chapos but the need to address the issue of marriage.
What is happening to marriages nowadays brethren? First comes love, then comes marriage, then comes the crushing realization that, sheesh, happily ever after takes a lot of work.
There is the very common idea that marriage will fix everything. One of the biggest misconceptions I see is people believing that marriage is some sort of magic pill.
I mean, do not marry because your peers are marrying. Take your time and get your perfect match. After all, God’s time is the best.

To those that are in marriage;
Do not compare your cutting room floor with someone else’s highlight reel. Just because Mr. P bought his wife a car, that doesn’t mean you should start asking for one. Appreciate that luxurious seat your man bought for your family or that dress he bought for you.
Enjoy your marriage; if your husband loves ironing your garments, let him do so. Who said that men cannot iron?
There are always two sides to every coin. What you think you see is not necessarily the reality. So the next time you get caught up in envy, always remember that unless you are that person you don’t really have the whole story.
Next time you feel as though you’re missing out on something that somebody else has, drill down into the essence of whatever you think that thing would give you and ask yourself, is it already here?
Understand each other’s differences and trust me, marriage will be sweet!
