While touring the KNH Hospital, Kindiki expressed optimism that the Taifa Care will benefit all Kenyans and announced plans to visit hospitals nationwide to oversee its implementation.
Speaking during the visit, Kindiki said “While most of the teething problems have been resolved, the government is streamlining all outstanding issues to ensure that hospitals provide services in an efficient and timely manner.”
The Deputy President has called on Kenyans to register for the Taifa Care program under the Universal Health Coverage (UHC) initiative, a key priority of the Kenya Kwanza administration.

“It is the intention of government to make sure that every Kenyan accesses medical services. It is now two months plus since we started out the registration roll-ups. The numbers are picking up, but they are not good enough. Let every citizen register under the Social Health Authority so that we can be beneficiaries of Taifa Care. It is a better package because from the impact stories that we have had from some of the patients, especially critical patients of critical illnesses. In many of the cases such as kidney transplants, heart related diseases , I have been informed by the patients themselves that the process of getting services is fast.”
This comes after President William Ruto’s recent directive to the Ministries of Health and Education to enroll all students in the Taifa Care program under UHC.
