Hope as 1,062 Recover From COVID-19

Kenya has recorded the highest number of Coronavirus recoveries in the last 24 hours. A total of 1,062 patients have been discharged as they have tested negative, bringing the total number of recoveries in the country to 12,961.

Speaking in Kisumu during the daily COVID-19 briefing, Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe said 599 people have tested positive of the disease bringing the total number of tested and confirmed positive cases to 26,436.

593 are Kenyans while 6 are foreigners. 373 are males while 226 are females.

Unfortunately, we have lost two patients from the disease bringing the death toll to 420 in the country.

Kagwe has thanked Maseno University for the excellent support they have given to Kisumu county in combating the coronavirus pandemic. He has also applauded Kisumu County for the dedication they have shown via ICT having a call center where citizens can call and get responses concerning the disease.  

The CS after being asked what step he has taken after his son allegedly held a house party which is against the COVID-19 measures said “I have no son under the age of 18. You can go and follow up yourself”
