Governor Kiraitu Holds Brief With Key Partners In In Arid Region Of Buuri

The Governor of Meru County H.E. Kiraitu Murungi, has held discussions with Toyota Kenya General Manager Mr. Reo Kumon, Total Kenya Isiolo Solar Project Development Manager Mr. Nicholas Mbaya and Geoland Surveys Isiolo Project Land Consultant Mr. Robert Mithika on the proposed solar power project which will be done in Kirua-Nkando, Kithima Sub Location.

The joint project by Total, Toyota Kenya and GreenMellinia is expected to generate 40 megawatts of solar energy once complete. This will help generate more power and light up more villages in Meru County.

The companies will also donate one million(1M) tree seedlings in support of climate change around the area and also drill a public borehole in Maili Saba market to complement the Governor’s efforts to achieve the vision of water in all parts of the County.
