Fake It Until You Make It Gone Wrong: Woman Arrested For Forging Academic Certificates To Acquire Gov’t Job
On Monday, officers from the Ethics and Anti Corruption Commission (EACC) arrested a former official of the Rural Electrification and Renewable Energy Corporation (REREC) for forgery of academic certificates.
Following investigations that kicked off In 2018, Lillian Akoth Ochieng a former Assistant Supply Chain Management officer at the organization has now been detained.
It was established by the EACC that the suspect had forged her Diploma in Management Purchasing and Supplies and also her certificate in Purchasing and Supplies Management.
The anti-graft agency had forwarded the file to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) who concurred with EACC’s recommendations to initiate criminal proceedings against Ms. Lilian Akoth Ochieng.
She will be arraigned in a Kisumu court on Tuesday to face charges of forgery, uttering false documents, providing false information, and fraudulent acquisition of public property.
