Echo Network Africa Transforms Into ENAF, Strengthening Commitment To Women’s Empowerment
Echo Network Africa (ENA) has officially rebranded as Echo Network Africa Foundation (ENAF) in a strategic move to broaden its impact and reach across the continent. The rebranding was unveiled during a ceremony at the foundation’s offices on Muchai Drive, Ngong Road, marking a renewed commitment to gender equality and social transformation.

Kenya’s Chief Justice and President of the Supreme Court, Martha Koome, who attended the event, described the rebranding as more than just a name change. She emphasized that it represents a larger vision to scale and replicate ENAF’s development models beyond Kenya. Highlighting the importance of gender equality, she stressed that empowering women and girls is not solely their fight but a collective responsibility for all.
“We seek positive change—politically and socially. We must dismantle barriers and create opportunities for women and girls,” CJ Koome stated. “Our nation and continent will only prosper when women are not merely surviving but thriving.”
The event also served as a prelude to International Women’s Day celebrations, reinforcing ENAF’s commitment to advocating for women’s rights in alignment with the twelve thematic areas of the Beijing Platform for Action.
CJ Koome urged society to support women in overcoming challenges such as gender-based violence, economic inequality, and restricted access to justice. She noted that many women continue to suffer in silence, burdened by trauma and systemic barriers. “We must break these cycles. Justice extends beyond the courtroom—it is within our communities, where we must empower women to solve problems and foster peace,” she remarked.
ENAF envisions an inclusive society where women and girls fully enjoy their rights and actively participate in development. The foundation will collaborate with like-minded partners to uplift communities across Africa.

As the organization embarks on this new chapter, its leadership called on governments, civil society, and individuals to support the mission of creating a more just and equitable world for women and girls.
In celebration of International Women’s Day, CJ Koome shared a powerful message:
“On this International Women’s Day, I believe that recognizing, supporting, and investing in women’s empowerment is not just a moral obligation but a strategic step toward a more equitable and prosperous Africa and world. By removing barriers and expanding opportunities for women and girls, we can unlock the full potential of half our population, ensuring a brighter future for our country, continent, and beyond. Women’s progress is progress for all—when women thrive, nations flourish.”
