Buuri MP Meets With Buuri West Headteachers
Buuri Constituency Member of Parliament Hon. Rindikiri Mugambi was yesterday joined by Buuri West headteachers to discuss the state of the schools in terms of sports, reading materials, achieving best results, and creating a conducive environment for learners.
Rindikiri gave all the 29 primary schools of Buuri West KLB authorized books for pupils from class 4 and below. He also gave them balls made in Buuri and For Buuri: and with COVID-19 still with us, he gave them sanitizers and masks to help in fighting the spread of the dangerous virus.
In the past, schools in the constituency have had toilets in a deplorable state with teachers and learners struggling to accommodate themselves by using the same area to responding to calls of nature.
The available classes too have been collapsing and becoming hard for students to learn especially on rainy days.
However, Hon. Rindikiri and his government has changed the state of the schools by constructing new classes, leveling fields, and constructing new lavatories for both teachers and learners.
“I have heard of schools where teachers are forced to use a neighbor’s washrooms due to the bad state of the school toilets. I am now happy that almost all schools have now the best restrooms and the construction of more is ongoing in various schools.”
The teachers hailed the MP saying they have seen a great change in their schools and are hoping for more developments in the near future. The MP is expected to meet headteachers from Buuri East soon.
The journey to transform Buuri schools has been long but fruitful.
