Absa Bank Partners with Visa to Launch Business Credit Cards for MSMEs
Absa Bank Kenya https://www.absabank.co.ke/personal/ has partnered with Visa to launch the Absa Business Credit Card, a solution built to empower Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). The card helps streamline transactions and manage expenses more efficiently, both locally and internationally.
It offers interest-free credit of up to 50 days, allowing businesses to better control their cash flow. Additionally, it includes 24/7 emergency assistance and digital tools for financial tracking. Users can access more than 40 service providers such as Google Workspace, Shopify, and DocuSign, helping them save costs as they modernize operations.
The launch took place during the 2025 Absa SME Business Forum, themed “Innovation for Growth: Unlocking Kenya’s Enterprise Potential.”
Speaking at the event, Elizabeth Wasunna-Ochwa, Absa’s Business Banking Director, emphasized the bank’s evolving support for MSMEs.
“Our clients need smart, flexible financial solutions. With Visa, we’ve built a product that delivers exactly that.”
John Njoroge, Visa’s Country Manager for Kenya, added:
“This partnership reflects our ongoing commitment to MSMEs. The new card improves their ability to access capital, manage costs, and grow in a digital-first economy.”
Hon. Susan Mang’eni, Principal Secretary in the State Department for MSME Development, praised the initiative, calling it a milestone in financial access for small businesses.

The Absa Business Credit Card is designed to serve a wide range of business needs. It supports spending on travel, fleet, software, and trade payments. In addition, it enables smooth international transactions—ideal for companies working with suppliers or clients across borders.
Along with spending flexibility, the card offers real-time tracking and digital account tools, helping businesses make informed financial decisions. This also improves budgeting and expense visibility.
The card is rolling out across all Absa Group markets. It serves businesses with local roots and regional reach, offering a single financial tool to support growth and expansion.
