M-Shwari Dismisses Online Fraud Claims as Factually Incorrect
M-Shwari has dismissed claims circulating on social media alleging fraudulent activity on an account held by a customer identified as Brian Aballah, stating that the allegations are inaccurate and unsupported by its records.
In a position statement issued on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, the digital financial services platform said it had reviewed the matter and confirmed that the claims do not align with the customer’s account history.
According to M-Shwari, its Customer Experience team has engaged directly with the customer mentioned in the online posts to address the concerns raised.
“Following a review of the matter, we wish to clarify that the allegations are factually incorrect and inconsistent with the customer account records,” the statement noted, adding that the continued circulation of the claims is misleading.
The platform has called for the withdrawal of the statements, urging members of the public to refrain from sharing unverified information that could cause unnecessary concern among users.
M-Shwari emphasised that it operates under the regulation of the Central Bank of Kenya and is trusted by millions of Kenyans with their savings. The lender reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding customer funds while delivering reliable financial services.
The company also highlighted its focus on transparency and fair engagement, encouraging customers to reach out directly to its support teams to review account records or resolve any genuine discrepancies rather than resorting to public speculation.
M-Shwari concluded by reiterating its dedication to customer trust and responsible communication as digital financial services continue to play a critical role in Kenya’s financial ecosystem.
