Qatar Airways Partners with Ballon d’Or®
Qatar Airways will make history this year as the first Presenting Partner of the Ballon d’Or®, football’s most prestigious award ceremony. The 69th edition will take place on 22 September 2025 at the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris, France.
For over six decades, the Ballon d’Or has celebrated the world’s greatest players, honouring talent, dedication, and achievement on the global stage.
Now, the World’s Best Airline joins the celebration of the world’s best footballers. This milestone highlights Qatar Airways’ deep commitment to sport and cultural connection.
A Historic Partnership for Football Excellence
Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive Officer Engr. Badr Mohammed Al-Meer said the partnership celebrates legends who inspire generations. He explained that aligning the World’s Best Airline with the world’s best footballers reinforces the company’s mission to excel in every arena.
Moreover, it reflects Qatar Airways’ goal to connect dreams, cultures, and football passion across continents.

Qatar Airways Partners with Ballon d’Or®
UEFA President Aleksander Čeferin welcomed the move. He said the Ballon d’Or goes beyond an award it honours talents who shape football history.
According to Čeferin, Qatar Airways’ role as the first presenting partner strengthens the event’s global reach. In addition, it emphasizes the power of football to unite people.
Expanding a Global Sports Portfolio
France Football awards the Ballon d’Or® annually, recognizing the best players in both the Men’s and Women’s game. The magazine will announce the 2025 nominees later this year.
This deal adds to Qatar Airways’ extensive sports portfolio. The airline already partners with FIFA, UEFA Champions League, Formula 1®, Paris Saint-Germain, Inter Milan, Novak Djokovic, MotoGP, IRONMAN, the French Rugby Team, Brooklyn Nets, Royal Challengers Bangalore, and many more. As a result, Qatar Airways continues to strengthen its reputation as a global leader in sports sponsorship.
