Commitment to Community Support

Absa Kenya Foundation has committed KES 3 million to support vulnerable communities during the Holy Month of Ramadhan. This initiative aligns with the Foundation’s mission to create a positive impact in society.

Reaching Those in Need

Working with Muslim community associations and local mosques, the donations will benefit over 800 households. More than 2,400 individuals in Nairobi, Garissa, Kisumu, Isiolo, Bungoma, Eldoret, Murang’a, Kajiado, Oyugis, and Nkurumah will receive food and essential supplies.

Speaking during a donation event in Kibra, Absa Bank Kenya’s Chief Finance Officer Yusuf Omari emphasized the Foundation’s commitment to uplifting communities beyond Ramadhan.

“We are honored to be here today to share in the spirit of Ramadhan, which promotes generosity and compassion. Just as we believe in inclusivity in our banking solutions, we also believe in supporting those in need so they can break their fast with dignity,” said Omari.

Deputy Chief Kadhi of the Shariah Board, Sheikh Sukyan Omar, expressed gratitude for the Foundation’s generosity during this sacred period.

“We appreciate Absa Kenya Foundation for walking this journey with the vulnerable, especially during Ramadhan. The donated food will help alleviate suffering among the needy,” said Sheikh Omar.

So far, the Foundation has donated foodstuffs to Gilgil, Mukuru, Juja, Kariobangi, and Kawangware. The donations will continue throughout Ramadhan.

Long-Term Commitment to Social Impact

Absa Kenya Foundation remains committed to long-term community empowerment. Beyond Ramadhan, the Foundation supports education, entrepreneurship, and sustainable initiatives aimed at transforming lives.

As part of its broader Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts, Absa continues to collaborate with stakeholders to drive meaningful change. By addressing food insecurity and economic challenges, the Foundation reinforces its mission to create lasting impact in Kenya.

Through this initiative, Absa Kenya Foundation ensures that vulnerable families can observe Ramadhan with dignity and hope, strengthening the values of compassion and community support.
