    • Shell Club Celebrates Mother’s Day by Supporting New Mothers at Pumwani Maternity Hospital Vivo Energy Kenya , the company that distributes and markets Shell products and services in the country, marked this year’s Mother’s Day by clearing outstanding medical bills for new mothers at Pumwani Maternity Hospital. The initiative, led through the Shell Club loyalty programme, aimed to support mothers and families while recognizing the critical role women play in society. The celebration aligns with this year’s Mother’s Day theme, “The Great Unburdening,” which highlights the need to ease the emotional, financial, and social pressures faced by mothers. Supporting Mothers Beyond Celebration Speaking during the initiative, Peter Murungi said the programme reflects the company’s commitment to compassion, care, and community wellbeing. “Motherhood is one of life’s most important journeys, and this Mother’s Day, we wanted to celebrate mothers in a meaningful and impactful way,” he said. He added that the company was proud to support families at Pumwani Maternity Hospital by easing financial burdens during a critical moment in their lives. According to Murungi, the initiative also aligns closely with Vivo Energy Kenya’s core values of empathy, respect, and thoughtfulness toward customers and communities. Shell Club Expands Social Impact Efforts Beyond customer rewards, Shell Club says it continues to expand its social impact agenda through initiatives focused on dignity, health, and community wellbeing. The programme noted that it remains committed to supporting meaningful community projects across Kenya while investing in initiatives that promote social and economic progress. The Mother’s Day support at Pumwani Maternity Hospital comes at a time when many families continue to face financial pressures linked to healthcare access and maternal care. By settling hospital bills for new mothers, the initiative sought to allow families to focus on recovery and celebration without the added stress of medical costs.
