Social Media Is Breaking Up Relationships

Given that social media has become so ingrained in daily life, it’s really no wonder that it is now a potential source of tension and conflict in relationships.

social media allows for quick and efficient communication, but it also changes the way people interact with one another.

It is so unfortunate that many relationships are started via some social media channel, so it’s hard to break the habits that might one day become more detrimental than helpful.

Here are reasons why social media is breaking up relationships

Comparison of relationships with others (Couple goals)

Relationships have to stand on their own and not in comparison to others. This is especially important to keep in mind as you see more and more of the details of other couples’ lives on social media. All relationships are different and all couples have different ways of communicating, expressing emotions, and spending quality time together. However, when you see friends and co-workers going on extravagant vacations and impressive dates, it’s challenging not to think about how your relationship compares. It’s important to remember that what you see on social media never tells the whole story.

Cheating catalyst

An affair doesn’t necessarily have to be physical. If you’re spending hours chatting to another person and being emotionally intimate, you’re already cheating. Without clear rules, a person may spend all of their time on smartphones and neglect their significant other, causing a lack of communication and trust between each other.

Texting

What happened to solving your differences one on one? Ever had a scenario of texting one thing and the recipient understanding something else? People will simply break up because one person misunderstood the text. Oh! the ‘blue ticks,’ almost everyone is a blue tick victim, and this has caused so many breakups in the name of the other person is ignoring me, chatting with their other lover, and all those negative vibes you get from blue ticks. Why would you blue tick your partner? Say you’re busy or something and save your relationship. People nowadays rant through texting forgetting that messaging will not express any body language.
