Clarification Of The Guidelines Regarding The Partial Reopening Of Eateries And Restaurants.

Following initial guidelines for a partial reopening of eateries and restaurants in line with the directives issued by His Excellency The President, there has been a lot of discussions and feedback regarding the issue.

It is through this that the Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe clarified that; pubs remain closed until further notice. Only eateries and restaurants have been granted the window to reopen but only after meeting the requisite standards of hygiene and safety.

Kagwe added that it is a necessary intervention to break the cycle to limit the possibility of transmission through mass testing of eateries and restaurant workers which they are working out a plan to have all food handlers tested.

A detailed protocol of the guidelines which the restaurant management is expected to read and understand will be posted in the Ministry of Health website as the reopening is predicted on full compliance.

Different facilities that can arrange for private testing have been encouraged to do so in consultation with the Ministry of Health
