Police in Tharaka Nithi County has launched a manhunt for a man who allegedly assaulted his wife accusing her of infidelity.
The suspect is said to have traveled from Nairobi on Saturday night and told his wife that they would vacate to another place to avoid being arrested and quarantined for having left Nairobi which is under lockdown due to coronavirus.
Upon reaching River Kathita, the suspect attacked his wife and asked her to undress then inserted pepper, salt and sealed her genitals with a mixture of sand and superglue. He went ahead to seal her mouth and nose while pushing it with a sharp knife.

Tharaka South police commander Kiprop Rutto said the suspect beat up his wife demanding her to name all the men she has allegedly slept with while he was away.
Kiprop says they have launched a manhunt for the suspect who is at large while the wife who suffered serious injuries reported the matter at Marimanti police station was rushed to Marimanti sub-county hospital where she is receiving treatment.
