EACC to seize property linked to Obado
The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has obtained orders to seize a Ksh.35m property in Loresho owned by Jared Kwaga who is suspected to be Migori Governor Okoth Obado’s proxy.
The orders will ensure that the property can neither be transferred nor disposed of in any way before the EACC finishes investigations and commence civil proceedings.

According to the EACC, the funds used to purchase the property had been embezzled by Kwaga. EACC says that Kwaga and his family members are also being accused of incorporating companies to trade fraudulently with the county.
Additionally, EACC has established that tenant at the Loresho property was paying rent to Governor Obado’s daughter Evelyne Zachary.
In 2018, the EACC alleged that seven members of the governor’s family registered 16 companies and secured multimillion tenders from the county government.
