Dr. Karanja, Anti-Vaccine Doctor Dies Of COVID19

A prominent Kenyan doctor, Dr. Stephen Karanja who served as the Kenya Catholic Doctors Association chairman and an anti-vaccine campaigner and conspiracy theorist has died from the disease.

Karanja said it was unnecessary to vaccinate Kenyans against Covid-19 and the only ways to prevent the spread of the virus was by wearing masks, mass testing, and observation of COVID-19 patients

“We advise that a COVID-19 vaccine is unnecessary and should not be given. We appeal to all the people of Kenya to avoid taking it,” he said in a statement in March 2021.

To combat the virus he also recognized inhaling steam several times a day, taking ivermectin tablets, and taking a combination of drugs daily.

His remarks were in sharp contrast with the head of the Roman Catholic Church, Pope Francis, who sits at the Vatican and advised all and sundry to take the vaccine.

He also spread conspiracy theories, involving Bill Gates and population control.

Dr. Karanja died on Thursday in the high dependency unit of a private hospital in the capital Nairobi.

More than 800,000 Kenyans have now been vaccinated, with no severe side effects being reported.
