Meru Hospitals Receive Medical Equipment Worth Ksh 3.4m.

SportPesa Foundation has donated Ksh 3.4 million to two health facilities in Meru County as part of its maternal health support commitment.

Mikinduri Sub-County Hospital received 10 maternity ward beds and two incubators, while Ankamia Dispensary received five maternal ward beds and 10 maternity packs.

SportPesa Foundation will also fund the construction of a new maternity ward at the Ankamia Dispensary.

“In March this year we made the commitment to support maternal health across the Country. We realise that women have to walk long distances to receive the medical care they deserve, with some not even making it to a health care facility,” SportPesa CEO Captain Ronald Karauri said.

Since launching the initiative five months ago, the Foundation has made donations to hospitals in five Counties across the Country.

Beneficiaries include Rironi Health Centre, Lunga Lunga Health Centre, Riruta health Centre and Ndarawetta Dispensary and PCEA Chogoria Mission Hospital.

Karauri said the Foundation will continue to support communities in areas of sports and education, maternal healthcare and ending poverty by promoting menstrual hygiene projects.
