Kilifi Governor opens a new maternity wing in Ganze sub-county

The trend of increased home deliveries has become a matter of concern to area governor Amason Kingi who is now worried about the infancy high mortality rate in the county.

Kingi says “Home deliveries deprive mothers of safe deliveries and better health care to the unborn child. Time has come for mothers to access better health facilities”

According to the governor, mothers shy off from accessing health facilities owing to fears of the spread of COVID 19. He has assured his people that his administration is keen on observing the Ministry of Health directives in the fight against coronavirus and it should not prevent expectant mothers from accessing health facilities,

“The Ministry of Health in collaboration with the World Health Organization has given strict measures to make sure that any patient or mother accessing health facilities is protected and does not get affected by the contagious coronavirus”

In this regard of the trending home deliveries, Amason Kingi has opened up the Bamba Health center maternity wing in the Ganze sub-county to ensure that mothers deliver in a safe environment.
