The Ministry of Education, in a memo on Friday, asked all County Directors of Education to work with County Commissioners and School Principals to ensure that students are facilitated to travel after their examinations.

County Commissioners and School Principals are expected to work together in making transport arrangements for students who will be traveling in and out of the five counties currently under lockdown.

Under the new directive, schools will be required to make sufficient plans with transport companies to have students picked from school.

They have also been directed to ensure that all students who will be traveling are in their full school uniform and bear a letter of introduction from their respective schools.

In new mitigation plans, the government banned movement into and out of Nairobi, Kajiado, Machakos, Kiambu, and Nakuru Counties following a spike in the number of COVID-19 infections in the five regions.

The cessation of movement into and out of the five counties took effect on Saturday, March 27, 2021, until further notice.
